2015-2017

  • Goldsboro Omega men had been members of Nu Alpha, a cluster chapter that included members in Goldsboro, Wilson, New Bern, Kinston, Greenville, and Washington. Monthly meetings were rotated through the various cities.

2011-2014

  • Early 1980: Brother Fred Lutz conceived the idea of a local chapter in Goldsboro.

  • July 1980: Area representative William Siler appointed a committee to study the feasibility of such a chapter.

    • Committee Members: Fred Lutz (Chairman), Amos P. Cox, Erthel Hines, Anzell Davis, Tommy Cox, John H. Wooten, Sr, and Herman Lucas.

2007-2010

    • Attendance had varied at various city locations.

    • Goldsboro tended to support its own activities, but support decreased at other locations.

    • There had been a growth in membership in the Goldsboro area.

    • A local chapter would reduce travel cost and increase the interest of inactive brothers.

    • There would be little cost in establishing a local chapter.

    • Since only 8 brothers would be needed to establish a chapter, the 22 financial brothers in the Goldsboro area provided the necessary membership base for a local chapter.

  • Brother John H. Wooten, Sr. and Brother Amos P. Cox were asked by the committee to evaluate the financial cost of a Goldsboro chapter. After receiving their report, the Study Committee voted to recommend establishing a local chapter.

  • August 9, 1980: The area membership approved this recommendation.

  • August 15, 1980: Chairman Fred Lutz contacted the Sixth District Officials to obtain the necessary paperwork for a chapter application.

  • August 15, 1980: Brother William Siler, as the Area Representative, notified Nu Alpha that the Goldsboro membership had elected to form a local chapter.

  • August 19, 1980: The Special Study Committee submitted the required paperwork to the Sixth District.

  • Fall 1980: The application was approved by the Sixth District.

  • December 1980: The application was approved by the Conclave.
